A Life of Faith, Family & Service “Our home was a sanctuary, now it’s a mission.”

Meet Candace CEO & Founder of Pallmher Hands 2 Incorporated My name is Candace, CEO and Founder of Pallmher Hands 2 Incorporated Pallmher Hands 2 Incorporated was not created from a business plan alone. It was born from faith, family, lived experiences, compassion, and years of opening our home and hearts to people in need. My journey has taught me that sometimes the greatest purpose in life grows from the very experiences we have walked through ourselves. RAISED TO SERVE As a Child of Deaf Adults (C.O.D.A.) raised in low-income housing on the South Side of Chicago, I learned early the importance of communication, patience, advocacy, and compassion. I gave my life to Christ at a young age, and my faith has remained my rock throughout every season of my life. From childhood, I served as a sign language interpreter for my parents and their friends. I also became someone people could turn to during difficult times offering support, mentoring, guidance, and encouragement whenever I could. Those experiences revealed something in me very early: I was called to stand beside people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. A FOUNDATION BUILT ON LOVE I am a wife, a mother of eight children four boys and four girls and a proud grandmother. My passion for serving others was strengthened through challenges within my own family. More than 20 years ago, my husband and I walked through a difficult season involving addiction. Without medication or formal treatment programs, we fought through that season with prayer, honest conversations, family support, perseverance, and faith. It wasn't easy. But we made it through. That experience taught me that people don't always need someone to judge them for where they've been. Sometimes they need someone willing to stand with them while they find their way forward. OPENING DOORS, CHANGING LIVES From the South Side of Chicago to Goshen, Indiana, and now Marion County, our home has always been more than a place to live. It has been a place of refuge. Over the years, we opened our doors to individuals experiencing addiction, trauma, homelessness, and difficult life circumstances. We provided a safe, rent-free place to stay for up to 60 days while individuals worked toward getting back on their feet. Each day began with prayer and ended with honest, open-hearted conversations. Some stayed for days. Some stayed for weeks. But our hope was always the same: That they would leave with renewed purpose, restored hope, and a belief that their circumstances did not have to define their future. FROM ONE HOME TO MANY Our service expanded into Elkhart County, where we rented homes specifically to support men participating in the local Work Release Program. Many of these men were facing the difficult reality of returning to society after incarceration and struggling to see a future beyond their past. We wanted to provide more than a roof over their heads. We provided structure, encouragement, accountability, group sessions, recovery classes, and one-on-one mentoring. We watched men begin to believe in themselves again. And one of the most beautiful parts of that journey is that many of those men are now thriving and some have gone on to mentor and encourage others. That is what transformation looks like. One life changed can become another life changed.

Candace Byrd-Fenwrick the founder of Pallmher Hands 2 Incorporated is committed to providing support, resources, and a nurturing environment for homeless fathers with children in Indiana. Our mission is to empower these fathers as they seek stability and a better quality of life for themselves and their families.

WHEN A SON BECOMES A FATHER One of our sons became a father at just 17 years old. We stood beside him and helped him learn responsibility, compassion, resilience, and what it meant to be a father. Later, he gained custody of two of his children but faced the reality that many young fathers experience: limited resources, limited support, and very few people willing to walk beside them. Watching his journey opened our eyes to the unique challenges facing young fathers. It planted a seed. That seed eventually became one of the central purposes of Pallmher Hands 2 Incorporated: Empowering fathers with children with the tools, resources, mentorship, support, and opportunities they need to build a better future. A MISSION BORN FROM EXPERIENCE Pallmher Hands 2 Incorporated is the result of everything I've experienced, everything my family has overcome, and every person we've had the opportunity to serve. “This is my journey. This is our purpose. Pallmher Hands 2 Incorporated is the result a place where hope lives, healing begins, and families are never alone.” Our work is rooted in faith, compassion, dignity, accountability, and community. We believe people deserve an opportunity to rebuild regardless of their past or present circumstances
